Make Your Gear Last Season After Season
Quality ski and snowboard gear is an investment, and with the right care it can last you many seasons. Here's everything you need to know to keep your equipment performing at its best.
Skis & Snowboards
After Every Ride
Wipe down your board or skis with a dry cloth to remove moisture and prevent rust on the edges. Never store them wet.
Edge Maintenance
Sharp edges are critical for control on hard snow and ice. Use a diamond stone or file to touch up burrs after riding, and get a full tune-up at least once a season from a professional shop.
Waxing
Regular waxing keeps your base gliding smoothly and protects it from drying out. Hot wax at home every 3-5 days of riding, or whenever the base looks dry or white. Match your wax to the snow temperature for best results.
Boots
Remove your liners after each day and let them dry completely before your next session. This prevents odor buildup and extends the life of the foam. Loosen all buckles when storing to avoid compressing the shell.
Bindings
Check your binding screws regularly — vibration from riding can loosen them over time. Have your DIN settings verified by a professional at the start of each season to ensure they're calibrated correctly for your weight and ability.
Helmets & Goggles
Never wipe the inside of your goggle lens — use a soft cloth to gently dab moisture away. Store goggles in their bag to protect the lens coating. For helmets, hand wash the liner with mild soap and air dry.
End-of-Season Storage
Give everything a thorough clean and dry before storing. Apply a thick layer of storage wax to your bases (don't scrape it off), and store skis/boards in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This protects the base all summer long.
